Multi-faith Chaplaincy

Multi-faith Chaplaincy Link to this post

Rather than appointing a Mayor's Chaplain, our Mayor Designate is wanting to set up a multi-faith chaplaincy. The idea is to have a team of local faiths representatives who come together as a body to advise the Mayor on faith issues, and also participate in Civic events as appropriate. Each year the Mayor will then appoint a Lead Chaplain (either from within the team, or from outside of it) to lead the chaplaincy team. The idea is also for the chaplaincy to provide advice across the Council, not just to the Civic role. Although we do have established faith forum and interfaith council, these bodies are currently being reviewed, so this is seen as an opportunity to set something up with a more defined remit in terms of supporting the Council and its staff - perhaps professionally and personally.

I wondered whether other Civic Offices had anything similar, rather than a single faith Chaplain's appointee?
