To colleagues whose authorities do not provide a Mayoral vehicle.
Can you advise what arrangements you have in place to get the Mayor where he / she needs to be?

We have an account with the local taxi company. The Mayor or civic officer may book the taxi. Friends / relatives / other councillors drive the Mayor and claim the mileage. On occasion the Civic Officer or other member of staff will drive the Mayor. He/she will also use public transport. Having said all that we are a small town and the majority of engagements are within the town and walking distance.
