Parade Salute wearing Bicorne Hat

Does anyone have any information / videos of the correct procedure for the Mayor, wearing Bicorne hat, when taking the salute at the dias on Remembrance Sunday.
I am aware that any embroidery etc is to be worn on the right. Any other useful tips / hints would be greatly appreciated on this subject.

Hi
My understanding is that one only salutes when wearing uniform, so a civic head perhaps has to do something meaningful, other than salute .
It may have originated in the United States, but I think the practice of removing the hat and holding it across one's chest is effective. This is a personal view and I accept others may disagree.
I do have one helpful tip for which way the hat should be worn. The manufacturer will always place the hat label inside, in such a way that as you look down into the hat you lift it up and place it on the head, in such a way that the writing on the label is the right way up. I hope that helps
