Armistice day - firing maroons? Link to this post

Please could I ask, if you and/or your team are responsible for organising the Armistice Day commemorations, are you also responsible for firing the maroons to mark the start and finish of the 2 minutes silence? Up until now the Member Services team here at Mid Devon have been responsible for this (and for escorting the Chairman!) but our Health and Safety Officer is not happy due to the associated risks. We also have an issue now with where we fire them for the same sort of health and safety reasons both for us and members of the public. I would be grateful to hear what other authorities do. Thank you.
