Civic Cars & Drivers

Civic Cars & Drivers Link to this post

Good morning, can anyone let me know how they use transport for Civics. We currently (pre Covid) have a civic car on lease and we pay for the services of a security company on an ad-hoc basis to drive the car and open doors etc.
Can you let me know if you have any other good ideas for either transporting or providing services for your civics. We are currently using a local Taxi firm, who isnt always seen as the best option.
Do any of you have deals with local chauffeur services and provided cars, if so are these on a zero hours contracts, or so many hours a month etc?
Do you use an unmarked Taxi, suited driver?
Lease or own a civic car?
Use a full time member of staff? We have had this before but it was dissolved a few years ago.

We are possibly looking to change but i have no idea where to start, help appreciated please.

Thanks

Max

Re: Civic Cars & Drivers Link to this post

Hi Max - in North East Lincolnshire we have just moved from owning the Mayoral Car (Mazda 6) to our Fleet Management Team now leasing a fully electric vehicle. We do employ a Chauffeur on a full time basis, but working annualised hours and find this work really well with the peaks and troughs of civic work

Re: Civic Cars & Drivers Link to this post

At NK we have a contract (reviewed 3 yearly) with a chauffeur company. He is able to accommodate our ad hoc bookings as required. If there are no vehicles available we will seek a taxi company. We would use a taxi service for short journeys of 10 miles.

I am interested to learn of other authorities moving towards use of electric vehicles tp reduce costs and carbon emissions and I hope you would be happy to share your findings.
Regards Clare
